They will each receive a donation of $250.00 in appreciation for the work they do in this community.

Joining GVACS

You are cordially invited to become a member of the Genesee Valley Antique Car Society, known widely as GVACS.

GVACS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration, enjoyment and use of antique vehicles. We are a Region of the National Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), and as such, are associated with other hobbyists around the country. We are also the largest and oldest antique vehicle club in the Rochester area. Currently, we have about 160 member families in the club.

Keep in mind that vehicles 25 years and older are considered antiques. It might seem like only yesterday, but it means that cars most of the 1980's are now included, To become a member, one must also be a member of AACA, but ownership of an antique vehicle is not required.

We would be pleased if you decide to join our GVACS family. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know about you and your cars. WE ARE FOR LOTS MORE THAN JUST ANTIQUE CARS!

History of the Club

We go back to 1950, when a need for an antique car club in the Rochester area was identified. At the first membership meeting on October 1, 1950, the club name and founding officers were selected. The club's logo was designed and THE BRASS LAMP was soon established as the club newsletter. In 1958, GVACS members voted to approve affiliation with AACA, Our calendar soon developed into cycle of indoor and outdoor activities that still continues today.

Purpose of the Club

1) The preservation and use of antique, classic and reproduction vehicles recognized by AACA and all material pertaining  to the history of those vehicles.

2) To provide a source of, and exchange of vehicle information and related materials.

3) To provide events, tours; and exhibitions for member participation.

Our Newsletter

The BRASS LAMP is emailed monthly to each member family and posted to the website to keep them informed of club events and news. It continues to be recognized by AACA as an award winning publication.

GVACS has a planned indoor or outdoor event each month of the year depending on the season. Indoor meetings are held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 3736 St. Paul Blvd., Rochester, NY. The outdoor events take place at various locations throughout the Genesee Valley region
